I challenged myself to complete my first StarWalk on behalf of my brother who lost his 4 year battle against lymphoma a year ago May, and my mother who is a 29 year survivor of lymphoma and is now battling breast cancer, aged 89. I have not been able to consider walking 15km for 41 years, but now with my titanium replacement knees, I decided this was the year to give it a go.

I was last, but triumphant. The marshalls that the back marker and I collected as we passed their posts were very kind to escort me at my speed to the finish (and those bacon butties). It was a splendid event, well organised, and had a fine spirit, thanks too to all those who sponsored me and everyone else.
