Well we did it !
The First Ever "StarWalk" in Kendal on Sat. 12th May 2007 was a fantastic night!
Even the weather could not dampen the spirits of the ladies that walked 15 km round Kendal Town at Midnight for CancerCare. It was a superb evening, with wonderful camaraderie and great spirit. Many walked in memory of a loved one and for some it was a huge personal challenge.
The walk was started by Tim Farron MP and Coun. Gwen Murfin, Mayor of Kendal. The local community and especially many of the local businesses were very supportive of the event and a special thank you goes out to our main sponsor Westmorland Shopping Centre for their help and support.
The first lady back was 62 year old Lillian Millen who powered her way across the finish line in just 1hr 53mins. A lady with a pedometer recorded an amazing 18,100 steps!
Well done to every single one and a big thanks to all the walkers, marshalls and volunteers from us all!
